Opening new worlds through creativity: Embracing the unknown
Creativity isn’t about sticking to a plan; it’s about allowing yourself to be pulled by something—an idea, a vision, a curiosity. When you follow that pull, it leads you into a space you didn’t know existed. This is how we open new worlds.
Creating something new requires openness, flexibility, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. Here are three powerful guidelines I share with my clients to help them unlock their deepest creative potential:
1. Hold a Beginner’s Mind
Admitting that you don’t have all the answers creates space for unexpected magic to happen. A beginner’s mind is free of preconceptions and open to infinite possibilities.
2. Work with What’s Available
It’s tempting to look outside ourselves for something more or something else. But when we work with what’s already present, we can go deeper. This depth invites what lies beneath the surface to rise and reveal itself.
3. Step Back Periodically
Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause. Step back from what you’re creating to gain perspective. This pause allows you to notice what else wants to emerge and ensures you’re aligned with the deeper flow of creativity.
When you engage in your most authentic creative work, you’re not just making something new—you’re uncovering the true heart of who you are.
