Listening to what has life: A path to creativity and connection
If we want a new world, we need to learn how to listen to what has life.
But what does it mean to listen to what has life? And perhaps even more importantly, what does it mean to say something is alive?
To me, what is alive sparks connection. It’s people buzzing with gifts to share, works of art that speak directly to our souls, spaces that shift and move us, and words that touch our hearts. It’s that electric quality we feel when something resonates deeply within us, reminding us of beauty, truth, and possibility.
Life shows itself in the creativity that takes us beyond the ordinary, in the beauty that inspires us to pause and feel, and in the presence of those who radiate passion and purpose. These are the elements that breathe life into our world, yet so often, they are drowned out by noise, busyness, and distractions.
To listen to what has life means learning to attune ourselves—to pause, notice, and honor what stirs something within us. It’s about letting go of rigid expectations and making space for the unexpected, the meaningful, and the alive to speak to us.
Creativity and beauty are where life resides. They are where transformation begins. When we listen to what has life, we open ourselves to the energy of what is most vibrant and authentic, and in doing so, we create space for a world that feels rich, full, and truly alive.
May we all offer what is alive. May we all learn to hear it, see it, and be guided by it. In doing so, we not only bring a new world into existence but also connect more deeply with the essence of life itself.
