The magic of being ‘smaller’: Finding clarity and strength in simplicity

Sometimes we need to be smaller in the world… so we can connect with ourselves in a deeper way.

What does being smaller mean for you?

Smaller may mean understanding that you can’t help everyone. It may mean giving yourself permission to do less, letting go of the pressure to solve every problem or meet every expectation.

For one of my clients, who’s navigating a messy tax situation with her ex-husband, being smaller means stepping back and letting things work themselves out without getting overly involved. For another client, who’s launching a new program, it means scaling a 12-hour seminar down to three hours. Three hours feels manageable, less overwhelming, and more focused.

Being smaller doesn’t mean giving up—it means creating the space to breathe, reflect, and prioritize what truly matters. When we stop trying to do everything, we often find clarity and strength in focusing on what’s essential. By stepping back, we give ourselves the chance to reconnect with our inner wisdom and regain the energy to move forward with purpose.

Sometimes, in being small, we create the room we need to flourish.

Where do you need to be small right now?

Embracing the concept of “being smaller” can lead to transformative clarity and focus. It’s about stepping back from overwhelming situations, letting go of unrealistic expectations, and allowing space for what matters most. Whether it’s scaling down commitments or releasing control over external circumstances, being smaller is a powerful way to prioritize your energy and reconnect with your true self.

Simplicity opens the door to strength and purpose.
