Be too much: Embrace your big energy
I work with so many clients who have what I call “big energy.”
They carry immense passion, ideas, and creative fire, but so often, they worry about being “too much.” They want to tone themselves down, to be nice, polite, and fit into the boxes society creates for them.
But here’s the truth: artists and visionaries can’t live in the place of “fitting in.” That’s not what they’re about. Their GIFT is being “too much.”
Pauline Kael, the iconic film critic, once said, “Art doesn’t come in measured quantities: it’s got to be too much or it’s not enough.”
Art requires an overflow. Creation demands intensity. Innovation comes from the edges, not from the comfortable middle.
If you’re someone who feels like your energy is “too much,” I want to remind you: That “too much” is your gift. It’s where your brilliance lies.
Don’t shrink yourself to make others comfortable. Don’t dilute your ideas to fit into a mold. The world doesn’t need you to be small—it needs you to be fully, unapologetically YOU.
Yes, being “too much” might mean ruffling a few feathers or standing out in ways that feel uncomfortable. But it also means inspiring, moving, and creating change in ways that only you can.
So please, I beg you: BE TOO MUCH. Let your energy, ideas, and creativity spill over. That’s where the magic is. That’s where your gift resides.
The world doesn’t need more people who fit in. It needs more people who stand out.
