Finding beauty in the unexpected: A pomegranate’s story

A friend took this photo of a pomegranate on the tree in front of my house. It had been looking sad and neglected—for some reason, it never ripened. I let it sit there, forgotten, while the rest of the fruit was picked, and the tree lost all its leaves for the winter. Then Suzanne came along and noticed it for me. That’s what artists do—they open our eyes to beauty in places we might otherwise overlook. I’m glad I can see it better now.

It’s amazing how the lens of an artist transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary. Suzanne’s photo didn’t just capture a fruit; it brought out its richness—the contrast of its weathered skin against the bare branches, the way it quietly held on through the seasons. Moments like these remind me of the power of perspective. When someone sees beauty where we see neglect, it’s a small but profound shift, an invitation to view the world with fresh eyes.
